The Inside Scoop with Luna for September 2025

From my basket, I watched as three grown kids sat across from their parents in Vanessa’s office.

Their voices were quick, overlapping, full of worry about what should happen now that their mom was unwell. What they didn’t know was that their parents, in their seventies, had already made careful plans. To me, it didn’t just sound like worry about money, it sounded like they were scared about what would happen to the mom and dad who’d always been there for them.

And just like that, once the plan was out in the open, the talking over each other stopped. The room went from buzzing with tension to something calmer, like everyone could finally take a breath.

They talked through everything. Wills, powers of attorney, charitable giving, their health wishes, their aging plan, even their funerals. Heavy topics, but saying them out loud seemed to make them lighter.

And it made me wonder: how many families put off these talks, and end up facing them only in a crisis? Maybe yours hasn’t had that conversation yet either.

From where I sit, the hardest part isn’t making the plans, it’s having the courage to share them. Every family that talks early wishes they’d done it sooner
