February always feels a little softer to me. From my favourite spot in the office, my warm bed beside Vanessa Benedict. I have noticed that conversations this time of year carry a different kind of warmth. Maybe it’s Valentine’s Day, or maybe it’s just the reminder that care, in all its forms, matters.

Care for families.

Care for friends and neighbours.

And care for the people we quietly hold close in our hearts.

From where I curl up, I see Vanessa hug each of her clients, and I hear stories that go far beyond day-to-day details. They are about aging parents, kids’ hockey schedules, changing seasons of life, and the people clients feel responsible for. These conversations are thoughtful, personal, and deeply human.

Love shows up in simple ways: listening without rushing, asking gentle questions, and creating space for people to share what matters to them. When numbers and logistics fade into the background, values take the lead, and those moments feel especially meaningful.

Valentine’s Day isn’t really about cards or chocolates. It’s about care, presence, and leaving people feeling understood. And honestly, that kind of love lasts far longer than any box of treats.
